Ancestor tables for Deva Pendragon

In Pendragon you role for ancestor’s expoilts to determine family hisotry and some stats. Given that the tables provided with the game as based on a Southern briton’s lifestyle they would not fit the Chester game so here is some alternatives. Like many mechanics in Pendragon they used D20.

Grandfather, 455-473

Grandfather was born when King Constantin ruled Britain. It was in this time that the Church of Rome began to combat the Pelgian heresy that even this day has many followers in the Isles of Briton. His Pict bodyguards murdered Constantin, and Vortigen became regent to the young King Constans but soon usurped him and was named High King by the fickle people of Briton. To sure up his reign Vortigen the Tyrant imported Saxon mercenaries first to best rampaging Picts and later to control the people’s of Briton. Your grandfather reached military age in 455 as the City of Deva is stunned by the news that the Immortal City, Rome, seat of the Empire and Mother Church has been plundered by Vandal barbarians.

Vortigen sends loyal Coronvii Royal House from Norgales to Dummnonia to cement his control there. The Eastern Britons rebel appealing for Roman help.

The High King of Ireland dies plunging that Kingdom into Anarchy. If anything this leads to an increase in Irish Raiding. A portion of Ambrosius Army besieges Vortigen while the remainder to deal with other foes. Any who escaped with Vortigen roll on the Vortigen supporters section of 46702. Other survivors of Vortigen’s Army find themselves at home battling the Irish (Table 46703.)

Uther wins the Battle of St Albans strapped to his horse but dies of poison there afterwards. Those who hunted Octa and Eosa fight at St Albans (roll on table 49501).
